Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council (SLAC) was founded in 1987 to provide HIV education and services to people living with HIV in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis parishes. SLAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community-based organization supported by grants from the HIV/AIDS Program of the Louisiana Office of Public Health, Department of Health and Hospitals, and Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and from other private foundation funding. These grants provide HIV medical care, social services support, and prevention services to people living with HIV in Southwest Louisiana.

In 2018, SLAC started doing business as the Comprehensive Care Center of Southwest Louisiana (CCCSWLA) with an expanded mission to improve health outcomes for the community at large by addressing health inequities and lack of access to medical care for vulnerable, low-income individuals and their families.

We are proud to announce the expansion of our facilities with the opening of our new Community Health Center in Summer 2026.

The CCCSWLA Primary Care Clinic is designed for everyone in our community providing accessible, compassionate, high-quality healthcare for individuals and families of all ages.

Our team of dedicated medical professionals is committed to delivering comprehensive primary care services, including treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, preventative care, wellness visits, and physical examinations for both men and women.

Whether you are dealing with a cold or a flu, minor cuts or infections, or simply prioritizing your long-term health, we are here to care for you every step of the way.

This expansion represents more than a new building; it is our commitment to building a healthier, stronger community by making exceptional healthcare available to all.
